Oliver Goldschmidt’s Allard J-2 speeds around Big Bend heading back into the Village  during the 1950 Glen Grand Prix. Engine parts were sometimes left on the shoulder of this section as engines overreved after downshifts. Goldschmidt won the event, but tragedy had struck earlier in the race when Sam Collier lost his life in a crash at wheel of Briggs Cunningham’s Ferrari 156.
